Punjab proud of ties with UAE: Elahi Ambassador Hamd Obeid Ibrahim Selim Al-Zehbi calls on PA speaker

Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said that there are vast attractive opportunities for investment in energy, education, agriculture, livestock and other sectors in Pakistan and both Pakistan and UAE could benefit from each other’s experts in all spheres of life.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi was talking to UAE Ambassador Hamd Obeid Ibrahim Selim Al-Zehbi who called on him at the Assembly Chamber here on Friday. During the meeting, both talked about matters of mutual interest and peace in the region. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that UAE have always demonstrated special love for Pakistani brethren. He paid tribute to UAE for cooperation and assistance in the establishment of hospitals and other development projects in Pakistan.
The PA speaker further said that Pakistani nation always proud of the brotherly relations with UAE, adding that friendship between the two countries is immortal which has been brightened and strengthened by the historic, cultural, literary, economic and social bonds. He said that he believes in the future bilateral relations between Pakistan and UAE will be further strengthened.
He drew attention of the visiting ambassador towards the vast opportunities for investment in energy, education, agriculture, livestock and other sector sectors, saying that foreign investors can adequately benefit from this scope. He said that mutual contacts in economic and social fields and friendly relations between Pakistan and UAE could further be promoted through investment, especially joint ventures between the two countries.
The UAE Ambassador expressed gratitude to the PA speaker for the hospitality, saying that people of the UAE also desire for progress and development of both the countries. He said that mutual ties between the two brotherly countries would be further strengthened with the passage time.
GCU VC DONATES BLOOD FOR CANCER PATIENTS
Government College University Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi Friday visited the GCU blood donation camp and donated a pint of blood for the cancer patients. The camp was organized by the university’s Blood Donor Society (GCU BDS) in collaboration with the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC), Lahore.
GCU BDS Incharge Dr Babar Naseem Aasi said that this donation by the Vice Chancellor would also inspire other students and faculty members to donate blood for saving lives of people suffering from different diseases.
Vice Chancellor Prof Zaidi appreciated the efforts of Blood Donor Society members that donated more than 1600 pints of blood every year for the people suffering from different diseases including cancer and Thalassaemia. The VC also briefed students and faculty members about the health benefits of blood donation.
